Spring Fashion 2015




I am sure most of you are looking for new outfits for this coming spring!


This spring we are starting to see lots of prints and bold colors, as well as pastels, and plain black and white.

So lets see what is at the front of the stores!





1. Tunics: These long shirts were very popular in the fall, if you still have one, bring it back out! These are going to around for a while. Especially black, white and grey. 

Is this for you? These work very well for people who want to cover their body, or are very tall, so that the shirt doesn't touch the floor.This is for someone who wants to be comfy all day long.

2. Printed Shorts: We have also seen this piece before! These started to get popular last summer. Along with the printed skirts.
If you bought them last year, bring them back out, no need to buy new ones if you can reuse.

Is this for you? These work well for someone who really likes their legs and would like to show them off, (that's that shorts are about). These fit a little looser and aren't tight like spandex at all!



3. Laced Tops: Lace is totally in! The more lace the better. 

Is this for you? Lace is a preference, but there is so many different kinds of lace shirts. You can do a lace crop top, or off the shoulder, or even a regular shirt like the one pictured. Whatever you're comfortable with :)




4. Dresses: There are so many different kinds of dresses for this spring. There are cut out dresses, maxi dresses and abstract dresses.
Is this for you? Pick out the ones that you are most comfortable in and fit your personal style.





5. Printed Pants: The printed pants are back! They were popular last year and they still are. 

Is this for you? Depending if you like the tighter or looser pants is your decision. These work for people of all heights and sizes.

6 Shoes: Platform strapped sandals and strapped open booties are everywhere! These have been everywhere in the stores in the mall. 

Is this for you? If you want to show off your feet then go with the sandals. They also make you look taller. If you want something a little warmer than go with the boots, that only show a little bit of your ankle.

The appeal shown is very versatile, they can be used for spring and summer, or could be layered if the weather is colder.

8 Steps to Getting Fit for Summer



Everyone wants to get fit for Summer, including myself.

I've complied the 8 steps that I'm going to try to use until Summer, and even after that.

Hopefully you will do these 8 steps with me so that we can be fit together :)

Beauty isn't just about the face and hair, it's about how you feel too!







 Step 1: Cutting out the sugary drinks! 
-The sugary drinks aren't doing anything positive for you unless the drink includes vitamins. But, be careful, those drinks could have 100g of sugar and 10% Vitamin C, which obviously isn't a good ratio.If you do drink the sugary drinks make sure that the vitamin to sugar ratio is in favor of the vitamins. Or to be safe Just Drink Water!





Step 2: Drink 2 cups of water with every meal
-Like I mentioned before, water is the best choice. Especially cold water, since it makes your metabolism work harder to get the water warm. It also really cleanses your body of toxins, and makes you feel more full while eating.





Step 3: Eat you veggies!
- I understand that veggies don't taste too great, but try to incorporate the veggies into every meal. I'm trying to eat two different type of veggies for every meal except for breakfast. The best way to eat the veggies is in a soup or a stir fry, because it tastes good and it's good for you.




Step 4: Exercise daily or twice daily
-If you live somewhere that is warm, then get outside and take a run or walk with your friends. Instead of driving and spending so much money on gas, try walking places, that is if you live near a town, park, beach, friends house, or shops. If you don't live somewhere warm, like me, then do indoor exercises or go to a local gym. Just find ways to move around throughout the day, your legs should hurt by the end of the day.



Step 5: Get 7-9 hours of sleep per night
-This is going to help you stay alert throughout the day, even after those crazy exercises that you did. Sleep is going to refresh your body and let it fully relax after a tough day. (I need to do this more)






Step 6: Get a workout buddy or community
-You can't go through this alone, you're going to need a workout buddy or a community that really keeps you motivated or it's going to be hard to keep going every day, especially when you're tired. If you're looking for a community try the PumpUp app on the Apple Store, it's full of people just like us, trying to keep motivated.



Step 7: Don't just forget about your favorite foods
- Instead of just forgetting your favorite foods, make them healthier. If you enjoy burgers and fries. Try a veggie burger and a wheat bun, with toasted carrots or freshly sliced potatoes that are baked in the oven. These types of meals are still yummy but have less calories so you don't have to worry about the fats and processed foods. There are many veggie burger recipes online, just find one that looks good to you!


Step 8: Have a GOAL
-This is the most important part of getting fit. If you have no goal then you won't have a reason to get fit. If your goal is to lose weight then set a weight you want to be, or select a pant size. Then, go and buy the pants you want to fit into. and hang it up on your wall or put it at the front of your dresser. Try on the pants every month to see your progress. This is also for anyone who wants to gain weight. 







I hope that you all can do these 8 steps with me to get fit for summer.
I'm excited about my results so far, it's been difficult but i can see the work slowly paying off.
My Goal: To feel confident in a swim suit this summer.

Are you a procrastinator? Needing better study habits?

The most common problem in high school and college is how to study correctly, and finding out what works for you.

Many people have this problem, but do they ever know what to do about it?

The most important part of studying is just setting aside time each day to do your studying and homework and find a spot that has a lot of light and is comfortable, without distraction.

I'll make it simple for you.

If you are a visual learner, you learn from seeing it in a picture or from colors then try these suggestions.
  • Try making the graph your teacher drew on the board, and put it into your notebook so you can look at it to study.
  • Try printing the graph from your book on a scanner and put it on your flashcards.
  • Put each topic/ chapter in a different color. This helps the brain connect the ideas.
  • Highlight the most important items for test in the same color so you know what to look for.
If you are a hands on learner, you learn from physically touching something.
  • Try using real life objects when looking at your notes. ex: if your problem in math has to do with counting, either adding or taking away, use candy so you can touch and move the candy.
  • If you are having troubles in science then go and explore the object. Or ask to borrow a 3d model.
  • If you're having trouble in Spanish/ language class, make flash card and put them on the objects that translate to the word. Ex: La Mesa - table, so place the la mesa card on the table.
If you are an auditory learner, you learn from hearing it.
  • Try really listening in class and have your teacher explain what they are talking about.
  • Talk about it with your friends
  • While studying read it out loud to yourself repeatedly 
Other kinds.
  • Try making acronyms for the words you are studying
  • Make the words into a song
  • Make the words into a story
These are just a few ways to help people study, maybe you don't study in any of these ways. But these are the most common and why not try them out?

5 Must Haves for SUMMER!

During the Summer I always have a list of things that I need to survive the summer heat.
Everyone's lists are different but this is mine:

1. Dry Shampoo:  





If you've never seen this before, it is great! This is used when you have greasy hair and dont have time to take a shower. So, as an example, if you go to the beach before work and sweat a little, you can just spray a few sprays into your hair and BOOM! NO MORE GREASE! and its only $8 at ulta!






2. BB Cream:                
   

This is the perfect foundation for the summer time. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB includes 8 skin benefits:

    3. Cross Body Bag/ Backpack






    This is a great idea for traveling around in the summer. When you're drinking your starbucks and texting, you dont want to worry about your purse being in the way. So buy a backpack or a cross body bag! These two are at target!




    4. Swim Suit Cover Up






    These are very useful, so that when you leave the beach you dont have to worry about getting your clothes wet, you can slip on the swim suit cover up and go into stores.





    5. Sunglasses



    Sunglasses are always a must! Its always a help for your eyes and a way to see while your at the beach or driving!

    Different Prom looks, what Prom dress fits best, and what to wear with it! :)

    All girls wonder, 

    *What style of dress will look best with my body type?

    *Which hairstyle or makeup look will look good with my dress for prom?

    *What jewelry should I wear?

    *What shoes will look good?

    Well I'm going to answer all of those questions, plus more <3


    There are millions of dresses in the world, how do you know which one looks best on you?
    Well first off you have to understand your body, and what is too tight,loose, short and long.
    -Make sure to pick the size that fits YOU! Even if its not the size you thought you were going to get. Who cares if you're a size 0 or size 16?
    -Remember if you're shorter, you don't need a long dress for prom. Many girls wear short dresses too.

    Here are a few varieties of dresses:

    (The Hair Styles will be after the dresses :) )

    A tip for all dresses: Try not to pick the same color as your skin, make sure its at least 3 shades darker or lighter, so you don't look washed out.
    Classic Dress:

    - Wear lots of jewelry with this kind of dress, the necklace can be as big as you want it to be. If you're going for the classic look, wear pearls, and make sure the earrings aren't too big.
    For the bottom dress, you do not need a necklace, but a small one would look fine, if you do not wear a necklace, wear larger earrings that match the sequins.

    -This type of dress really shows off your chest and your high waist line. It is very flowy on the bottom and hides hips and legs. If you have a bigger chest and you do not like your waist, this is not the dress for you. 

     - For shoes, try to match your jewelry and do the silver or gold. If you wear the pearls then you could wear black, white, gold or silver shoes.Usually black is the best.





    Mermaid Dress:

    - As you see from the picture, this girl does not have a necklace on, this is because of the multiple placements of sequins on the dress.But do wear earrings that match the dresses sequins , silver or gold.

    - This type of dress shows off your chest down to your hips. If you do not like a part of your body that is in that area, do not wear this type of dress. If your biggest concern is hiding your legs then this is perfect.

    - Your shoes will not show, but if you still want to match then go for a silver or gold shoe, depending on your jewelry and dress sequins.





    Opened Dress: 

    -This dress has a lot of sequins on one side of the body, so a necklace would be your choice, but if you were to wear one, make sure its not too big. Earrings can be anywhere from studs to medium sized. A bracelet looks nice too, but id wear it on the opposite arm of the sequin.

    -This dress hides nothing. It shows your chest, back, sides, hips, legs and pretty tight on your stomach. This is not a dress for hiding ANYTHING it is for showing it all off. 
    Do not wear this dress, unless that is your intention.

    -Your shoes will show, so wear some heels or flats that match your jewelry and sequins.



    Covered Dress:

    - As you can tell with the one shoulder dress, you do not need to wear a necklace. This goes for all, one shoulder dresses. Since the sequins are in the middle of the dress, wear as big of earrings are you choose.

    -This dress covers your chest very well, if you do not like your chest or back, or hips it covers them all. It shows off your waist line though. If you wear to cover all of the things I mentioned, pick a dress like this.

    -With this dress, the shoes will not show, but as I say, wear shoes that match the sequins and jewelry.






    Tight High Low Dress: 

    -Since there is so much sequins at the top of each dress, you do not need a necklace. Top dress- have earrings and bracelets that match the sequins. Bottom dress- pick a color in the sequins that you really like and wear earrings and bracelets that are that color.

    -This dress also shows everything off, except your butt and back of legs. The bottom does hide the top of your thighs. If you want to only cover your butt and back of legs then this is a good choice for you.

    - Make sure to wear higher heels with this type of dress since you are wearing it to show off your legs. Also make sure the shoes match the jewelry.


    Looser High Low Dress:

    -With the sequins at the top no necklace is needed. Make sure the earrings and bracelets match the sequins, they can be as large as you wish. 

    - This dress covers a lot of your body. The chest, stomach, hips, butt and thighs. The only area it does not cover is the legs.

    - For shoes wear high heels since you are showing off your legs, and you want them to look longer. Unlike this picture I would personally wear red heels, or a cool pop of color.






    Short, Loose, and Strapped Dress:

    - Like this photo you really only need to wear large earrings that match the sequins. The necklace and bracelets are not needed.

    - This covers your whole chest, hips, thighs, stomach, and butt. But it does not cover your legs. This dress is better for a shorter girl. If you don't care about showing off your legs, then get a dress like this.

    - Wear high heels that match your earrings and sequins on the dress.







    Tighter Short Dress:

    - Since the sequins are at the top, only earrings are needed. If you want to wear bracelets, you can.

    - This covers your hips, thighs, and butt. This dress does not cover your stomach, back, or chest very well.

    -Like the picture, wear a pop of color for your shoes. Whatever color high heel you choose is perfectly fine!

    How To Make A Little Makeup and Clothing Go A Long Way!

    Most people ( like myself) buy a lot of make up that they do not need!

    But since I LOVE to buy new makeup and clothes that come out, and i cant control myself, so this would be hard for me :(

    SO this is how to make a little go a long way, by using makeup for muti-purpose items for your face. And using the same jeans in two different outfits and how they look totally DIFFERENT!


    Makeup:

    1. Cheek and Lip Stain: This certain product is used for both the cheeks and lips, there are many different colors and flavors. It is also 100% natural and vegetarian, using colored fruits and veggies as its pigments instead of synthetic dyes.
    Though it does cost  $17, it is a high end product, and it is cheaper than buying the high end blushes and lip stains separately.

    2. Primer: I love using primer! It always helps to keep my makeup on all day. Most people buy this primer (which is for your face) and an eye shadow primer. But what I've found is that this product works for both an eye shadow primer and a face primer!
    Its only $10 for a travel size of this at Ulta. So before you go and buy an Urban Decay Eye Primer, try this out first.

    3. Bronzer: Most people don't realize that you can use your bronzer for your face, for eye shadow. They will go out and buy a brown eye shadow and never realize that they have a brown eye pigment that they already own. Just use the bronzer!

    This Sun 'n Bronze Bronzing Powder from Walmart can easily be used as a eye shadow and you have different colors to choose from. Its also only $4.47, thats an awesome price!

    Clothing:

    1. White Jeans: White jeans are always in for the spring and summer time. During the summer you can just roll them up and they can be capris. They are also used for both dressing up, and dressing down. So by only buying one pair of white jeans there are many options! Ill show you some examples below.

    2. Scarves:  Most people believe that they can only wear scarves during the winter. That is partly true, if you have a very thick scarf then you can only wear them in the winter, but if you have a thinner one, it can be used for spring too! Here are a few outfits to wear your scarves with.

    3. Boots  Believe it or not boots can be worn in all seasons! If you buy some boots that are short enough and not too thick, then its easy to wear them in the summer too. Maybe you have some and you wonder, what do you mean? What outfits would you wear them with? Look below for some examples!
