How To Look Your Best For An Event (Wedding, Prom, Homecoming, Graduation, etc)

Hey guys! I haven't been on here since before Christmas!
I hope the holidays were very enjoyable for you :)

Today I want to talk about how you can look your best for an event
Whether it be your Wedding (or someone else's), Prom, Homecoming, or maybe your graduation. You can use these tips for going to ANY event, because every girl ( and guy) wants to look their BEST!

This will be a 4 week/30 day/1 month list of things you can do to prepare yourself, from as early as a month ahead of the event.

Lets say that the event is a month from today : January 17th, 2014- February 14th, 2014 ( Valentines Day)

These are the basic things that girls do while getting ready for an event:
  1. Get a dress,shoes and jewelry
  2. Prep Hair
  3. Shave Legs
  4. Prep Face
  5. Whiten Teeth
  6. Tan
  7. Paint Nails
Week 4. ( January 17th -24th):
- Get your dress for sure this week! Make sure to get a size dress that isn't super tight on you, unless you plan on loosing weight before the event. But if you aren't planing to, just get a dress that has a little extra room just in case you gain any weight. I suggest Macy's

-Get your Tan. If you want to be tan and you want to go to the tanning bed, make sure to be it a month or more before the event. Go to your local tanning beds.

-Buy Teeth Whitening strips and/ or Whitening tooth paste and use it every day until the event. I suggest (Crest Whitestrips) Strips from Walmart

- Buy a few face products and start testing them out, or you can try a few at home remedies. Here are a few cool at home remedies for your face, (http://www.womansday.com). And they REALLY WORK!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 3 (January 24th -31st):
- Get your Jewelry and Shoes that matches with your Dress.

-If you want to get your hair dyed or cut do it 3 weeks ahead, just in case you don't like it, there will be time for it to grow out and or not be so vibrant in color.

-Make sure that you are for sure using your teeth whitening strips!

-Choose the face product or remedies that work by this point and start using them daily!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 2 (January 31st - February 7th):
-Get your Tan for that week

- Whiten your teeth and use the tooth paste with the mouth wash too! If you are not seeing results by now then switch to something more powerful or try using baking soda and peroxide ( do not get them on your gums).

-Use your face wash every day or every other day. ONLY use your remedy once that week.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Week 1 ( February 7th - EVENT DAY):
-If you dont want to get a tanning bed tan then purchase a self tanner at the store. I recommend Jergens, and use it a week before the event. (Jergens Link

- Use your last week of teeth whitening strips.

- Get your nails done at a Salon 2 days before the event or paint them yourself the day before.

- Test out makeup and hair looks this week and see which one you like so you don't have to decide on the day of the event.

-Use a Hair mask this week and let it hydrate your hair so it looks shinny!

- Shave your legs the day before the event and on the day of the event use lotion on them so they smell good and are soft.

- Wash your face this whole week and make sure to use moisturizer so that your skin glows but isn't too shiny.

- Lastly get all dressed and put everything on to go! Don't forget the perfume and deodorant!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You certainly do NOT have to do ALL of these things, but if you want to look your best you need to plan ahead.

Also I hope I got everything, there may be a few things that I missed or something that you do and I don't, but you can tweak this list to make it your own!

I HOPE THIS HELPED!!!
Remember: its all designed to help relieve your stress and help you relax more on the day of the event!

(Disclaimer: I made this list all on my own, the links are from websites that I think are useful)

Trendy Summer Tips for Girls

Hey Girls, as you can tell it is June! Meaning we are out of High School or College and we get to have our summer jobs and be tan :)

I've been having a great first week of summer so far, I've been working out daily, eating healthy, getting tan ;), and been having fun with friends.

There are a few tips that I would like to share with you, to make this summer easy, unforgettable and just hassle free.

Hair:

 1. This summer, try not to use that much heat on your hair, since its warm outside let your hair air dry and this will help it not get damaged as much.

2. If you want cute beach waves, instead of using a curling iron or crimpper, try finding a sea salt that you can use in your hair to recreate the beach hair look.

3. Use a mask on your hair at LEAST once a month. This mask should be a deep conditioning mask, and you may wonder why you need this? Well, your hair has been damaged by the iron you've used all winter and the its dry from the winter and from the humidity that is starting to kick in. There is a great sample of Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Mask, that is at ulta and you can try for only $4.

Face:

1. During the Summer I try not to use as much makeup as I do in the Winter and Fall. This helps because when I go swimming I don't have to worry about mascara running down my face. Or when its a hot day I don't have to worry about my foundation coming off and being blotchy. I encourage you to do this.

2. When you are done working out or even tanning outside, and you don't want to take a shower just yet because you HAVE to do something else, make sure to use a towel (or i use a moist makeup wipe) to wash your face and your back off ( or where ever you sweat). This helps to make you less acne prone and makes sure your skin isn't dirty when it drys.

3. Use a mask or exfoliate every week. If you use a nice face mask on your face every week it helps with the breakouts and gets your pores very clean, and who doesn't want that? And what I mean by exfoliate, I mean to get a gentle face scrub like this one from target, its a scrub that guarantees to exfoliate your skin. Its called Up & Up Apricot Scrub and its only $2, its worth to try it for that price!!

Body:

1. Know your skin! If your skin gets dry from the sun, bring a hydrating lotion with you in your car or purse/ beach bag. If your skin gets oily make sure to bring blotting papers with you or moist wipes so you wipe off that sweat.

2. DON'T BE DUMB IN THE SUN! If you are outside at the beach, tanning, or you just know you're going to be outside for a while, don't cheat your skin. This means, if you know you burn a lot then put on sunscreen, today is not going to be different from the other days you got burnt. If you only burn on your face then make sure to put it on that area. Be smart with your skin, you don't want to get burnt and have to go through the consequences.

3. While shaving, make sure to do it right. You probably wonder, "How can you shave wrong?". You can! First, don't use a razor that doesn't do the job or is too dull. Second, if you break out by using shaving cream or soap then don't use them, just shave in the shower with plain water.Third, NEVER use scented lotion, it will MAKE you break out, no matter how good it may smell, just wait 2 or 3 hours then put it on.

Food!:

1. Summer is the time to take care of your body , because more people are going to see it. You're going to wear shorts and tank tops that shows more of your skin, than the coat and pants you were wearing in the winter. This means that you need to know where you are with your body. Are you perfect just the way you are ( which everyone totally is in my sight)? Do you need a flatter stomach or want toner legs?  Then make it your goal over the summer to work on those things so that you can feel COMFORTABLE in your body.

2. Try to say away from the icy cold treats. I know they are TEMPTING! and all you may want is to have that ice cream that is calling your name while you are blazing hot. But fight the urge and if you do splurge then make sure that its not too calorie packed and if it is, then make sure that you know that its only a one time treat that you can only have on a certain day or once a month. CONTROL YOURSELF!

3. DRINK THAT WATER! Make sure to keep hydrated, to help your body grow and stay nourished. It hot outside and the more you workout and have fun and sweat you're losing that water that was in your body. It also helps to clear your skin :) so drink plenty of water.

My last tip is to just HAVE FUN! You don't have to worry about school and you can finally relax! Make the most of it, don't get caught into drama or over pack your schedule so you are stressing out! Try to make it as simple and easy as possible.

It goes by fast, don't let it slip away, live EVERY moment like it's your last one and take a few minutes a day to just close your eyes and let your mind take you AWAY!

Until Next Time!

Here is a Link to the Macy's Website on the prom dress sale section, have fun , look around and hurry up to order <3

Macy's Prom Dresses on SALE!!!!

I would love to show you mine but for some reason i cant find it on the Macy's website, but next week for my prom ill post a picture of how I looked in my dress.

Everyone keeps on asking me what kind of makeup and hairstyles that ill be doing on my own hair and on my friend's hair.
My answer is: I have no idea yet. Ive been looking up some styles online and I have a few little ideas but hopefully they will tell me what they will like :)

But I DOOOOO have a few tips if you are doing your own make up and hair for prom

Makeup:

  1. Depending on the kind of dress that you get, DONT do a very bold eye, because that will be too much to even look at. But if you do have a very plain dress, then play with your eye shadow..... Here is a neutral look that will work for everyone.. Amanda Bynes always does a very pretty neutral look.
  2. Next, Play up with the eye lashes ALOT! Use some fake Eyelashes if you want, the best, cheap eyelashes are from E.L.F. GO BUY SOME! THEY ARE ONLY $1 AT TARGET!!!
  3. Get a good translucent powder for pictures. There is a good cheap CoverGirl Powder at target for only $4.99(link CoverGirl Powder). I've heard amazing reviews about it but i have never tried it. My Powder that i use is from Bare Minerals and I also use a E.L.F Powder that is cheap but works very well.
  4. DONT gloss your lips up too much, while you are outside taking pictures or even just walking outside to go to dinner its going to get your hair stuck in it. Either use a really good, long lasting lipstick , a lip-stain, or a colored chap-stick like Babylips. It isn't sticky, its $3.99 at Walgreens and it has color!
HAIR!!!

  1. If you want to look classy then.. DONT leave your hair down or just straighten it. Prom is a very formal event, you may have paid a lot of money for your dress and shoes and if you have a date they probably paid a TON for their tux. At least do this simple curly hairstyle BUT if you REALLY want your hair down and straight its your choice but it looks more classy being curly. Here is a simple hairstyle for prom.
  2. If your dress is plain then find a flower or head band to put in your hair, to make a simple dress look elegant. ( the picture above is a good example.)
  3. DONT curl your hair too much!!! It could be a real disaster to have too poofy of hair. You do not want to look like a poodle. But if your hair does turn out like that, don't panic, just brush it out and if it doesn't calm down then straighten it and start over again :)
  4. Try different things with your hair before prom so that you have an idea of what you would like, what looks good on you and what is possible for your hair.
Jewelry <3

  1. If you have a plain dress wear a lot of jewelry. These are the things to wear with a simple dress that can make it look very classy: big earrings( either diamonds or pearls), a nice colorful or diamond/pearl necklace, bracelets that have either the color of your necklace or a silver/gold one(which ever one matches your dress better) and sparkly nail polish to shine even more!
  2. If you have a FLASHY dress then wear less jewelry. This helps people look at your dress more and the accents or colors on your dress. These are the things to wear: Small  earrings ( either diamond or pearls), a gold or silver necklace with only one jewel or a heart on it ( or no necklace), and no bracelets but painted nails that either match your dress or french manicure.

REMEMBER!!!

You do NOT have to do all of these things for prom, but these are tips that will make you look more classy, elegant and comfortable in pictures and at the dance.

The most important part is to just HAVE FUN!!!!!
